Learning Objectives: Learners will develop an understanding of how infiltration rates affect what sprinklers to select when designing an irrigation system. Landscape design features change soul intake rates, which affect which sprinkler types are best selected.
This course will cover:
a. How to assess the Infiltration rates of a variety of landscape situations (large vs small turf areas, shrub beds vs flower beds, bare soils vs mulched beds, etc).
b. Selecting appropriate sprinkler and nozzle types, based on soil infiltration rates.
c. How to develop zoning, based on soil infiltration rates and sprinkler types selected.
